A WILDLY CREATIVE ADVENTURE

My mother always says, “When you wake up in the morning you never really know what the day will bring.”

March 13, 2020 was a day that many of us never anticipated. I don’t think COVID-19 was officially a pandemic yet, but it was certainly becoming an emergency. It was a big enough emergency that my school district in Maryland decided to shut down for two weeks. How do you keep an only child occupied while school is closed and you’re working remotely?

My husband and I thought it would be a good idea to spend some time in Williamsport with his family. Our son could hang out with his cousins, and we could get our work done. Long story short….we never left.

Our journey has gone in a completely different direction. It’s exciting and I’ve never been happier! We have a new home. I’m starting a new job for the 2021-22 school year. I rented a studio at the Pajama Factory. I’ll teach remote art classes for middle school students in Maryland during the day, but what else could I do with such a cool space?!?!

I’ve decided to start a business. I want to start selling my art. I don’t claim to be Picasso, but I like making art. It makes me happy. But art can take up a lot of space, and art supplies can get expensive. Selling my art will make my husband happy, because then it will be in someone else’s house. Selling my art will make me happy because then I will have some extra money to buy more art supplies. Hopefully, selling my art will make others happy too. I really hope my artwork brings joy to anyone who chooses to take it home.

I love making art, and I want to help others find that same feeling. Kids are naturally creative. They just need the opportunity to practice doing it. It always surprises me how many adults think that they are not creative or that they cannot be an artist. I don’t believe that for one second. Come take a class with me. I can help anyone find or rediscover their inner artist.

It’s going to be a wildly creative adventure!
